Psalms Chapter 29

1A Psalm of David.

Ascribe what is due to the Lord,

You mighty ones

– Ascribe glory and strength to the Lord.

2Ascribe the glory of his name to the Lord;

Worship the Lord in holy splendour.

3The voice of the Lord is over the waters,

The God of glory causes thunder;

The Lord is over great waters.

4The voice of the Lord is with power;

The voice of the Lord is with splendour.

5The voice of the Lord breaks cedars;

Indeed the Lord shatters the cedars of Lebanon.

6And he makes them leap like a calf

– Lebanon and Sirion like the young of a buffalo.

7The voice of the Lord cleaves apart

With a fiery flame.

8The voice of the Lord shakes the desert;

The Lord shakes the desert of Kadesh.

9The voice of the Lord causes hinds to calve

And strips woodland bare.

And in his temple,

All of it speaks of glory.

10The Lord abode the flood,

And the Lord abides as age-abiding king.

11The Lord will give strength to his people;

The Lord will bless his people with peace.
