¹Then the Lord said to me, “Go again and make love to a woman who is loved by a friend, but who is adulterous, just as the Lord loves the sons of Israel, but they are turning to other gods, and they love cakes of raisins.” ²So I bought her for fifteen pieces of silver and a homer of barley and a lethek of barley. ³And I said to her, “Remain with me for many days, and do not commit prostitution. So do not have a relationship with any man, because after all, I myself will be for you.” ⁴For the sons of Israel will remain many days with no king and no prince, and no sacrifice and no pillar and no ephod or household gods. ⁵But afterwards the sons of Israel will return and seek the Lord their God and David their king, and they will fear the Lord and his goodness in the latter days.
