Revelation Chapter 5

1And I saw on the right hand side of him who was sitting on the throne a book written on the inside and outside, sealed up with seven seals. 2And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the book and break its seals?” 3But no-one in heaven above or on the earth or below the earth was able to open the book or to look inside it. 4And I wept a lot, because no-one was found worthy to open the book or to look inside it. 5Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah – the root of David – has been victorious and is opening the book and its seven seals.” 6And I saw between the throne, along with the four living beings and the elders, a lamb standing as slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God which are being sent into the whole earth. 7And he came and took it from the right hand of him who was sitting on the throne, 8and when he had taken the book, the four living beings and the twenty-four elders fell down before the lamb, each having a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. 9And they sang a new song, pronouncing,

“You are worthy to take the book

And open its seals,

Because you were slaughtered

And you redeemed us to God by your blood,

From every tribe and tongue

And people and nation.

10And

You made them kings and priests to our God,

And they will reign over the earth.”

11And I looked, and I heard the sound of many angels around the throne, and of the living beings and of the elders, and the number of them was tens of thousands of tens of thousands and thousands of thousands, 12saying in a loud voice,

“The lamb which was slaughtered is worthy

To receive power and riches

And wisdom and strength

And honour and glory and blessing.”

13And I heard every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and below the earth, and which is on the sea, and the creatures in them, all saying,

“To him who sits on the throne

And to the lamb

Be blessing and honour

And glory and power

Throughout the durations of the ages.

Amen.”

14While the four living beings were saying “Amen”, the elders fell down and worshipped.
